How It Works.
Our Philosophy
At Foundational Potential Consulting, we believe every individual deserves behavioral services that are ethical, evidence-based, and tailored to their unique strengths, needs, and goals. As a BCBA-led behavioral assessment, consultation, and caregiver training practice, we partner with individuals, families, caregivers, educators, organizations, and other professionals to develop practical, data-driven strategies that create meaningful, lasting change.
Our services are rooted in the science of Applied Behavior Analysis and are designed to promote independence, improve quality of life, and support positive outcomes across the lifespan. Rather than beginning with predetermined treatment hours or one-size-fits-all recommendations, every service begins with listening, collaboration, and a comprehensive understanding of the individual. Through thoughtful assessment and individualized recommendations, we strive to build foundational skills, strengthen support systems, and unlock meaningful potential at every stage of life.
Step 1 – Complimentary Discovery Call

Our journey begins with a complimentary 15–20 minute phone or secure telehealth consultation.
This conversation allows us to:
- Learn about your concerns and goals.
- Answer questions about our services and practice philosophy.
- Determine whether our services appear to be a good fit for your needs.
- Explain the next steps in the assessment process.
This is an informational conversation and is not a clinical evaluation or treatment session.
Step 2 – Clinical Intake Appointment
If we decide to move forward together, the next step is a comprehensive clinical intake appointment.
During this appointment we will:
- Review developmental, medical, educational, and behavioral history.
- Discuss current strengths and areas of concern.
- Review previous evaluations and records when available.
- Identify meaningful goals for the individual and family.
- Determine the most appropriate assessment plan.

Step 3 – Behavioral Assessment
Behavioral assessment is individualized based on the needs of each person.
Assessment may include:
- Interviews with caregivers or other stakeholders.
- Direct observations across relevant settings and times, as clinically indicated.
- Functional assessment procedures.
- Review of existing records and behavioral data.
- Analysis of environmental variables influencing behavior.
The purpose of the assessment is to understand why behaviors occur and identify practical, evidence-based strategies for meaningful change.
Step 4 – Individualized Recommendations
Following the assessment, findings are reviewed and individualized recommendations are developed.
Recommendations may include:
- Behavior Support Plans.
- Parent and caregiver training.
- Environmental modifications.
- Skill acquisition programs.
- School or homeschool consultation.
- Professional collaboration.
- Ongoing behavioral consultation.
- Referral to additional services when appropriate.
Services are recommended based on clinical need—not predetermined therapy hours.
Step 5 – Ongoing Support
Step 5 – Ongoing Support
When appropriate, ongoing services may include:
- Behavioral consultation.
- Parent and caregiver coaching.
- Progress monitoring.
- Program modifications.
- School collaboration.
- Staff training.
- Adult behavioral consultation.
- Periodic reassessment.
Our goal is to build practical skills that promote independence, improve quality of life, and support meaningful, lasting outcomes.
